Hello from the Other Side

Happy New Year!

In my last note, I shared the news of the merger between The Digital Frontier and Photo Craft, GrafXGroup, and Rosario Custom Framing in late summer 2022. The addition of these brands to the Blue Vista LLC family of companies doubled our company’s size, expanded our large format and digital printing services, dramatically increased our trade show supply presence, and added fine art print and photography production and custom framing to our portfolio.

Then I went dark.

Can we agree that moving is hard?

Add in the fact that we moved two manufacturing companies, complete with cranes and rigging, and merged four brands and multiple systems and, well, OOF. But we did it!

Now that the dust has settled, what’s next?

As a small business in a growth phase, there’s no shortage of strategic priorities, but there is one that stands out above all others.

Online Ordering, Dedicated Client Portals, Inventory/Pick and Pull Services

Over the last two years, The Digital Frontier has spent considerable resources implementing a print-specific MIS platform to move off of spreadsheets and on to a sophisticated integrated system that can meet all our needs as we grow. Now, it’s time to take it to the next level.

In January 2023, we embarked on the launch of our e-commerce platform, including an online storefront.

Soon, people or companies anywhere in the world will be able to place orders, upload custom art, approve proofs, and make payments – all via our website storefront, which is fully integrated with our backend MIS.

Beyond B2C e-commerce, this platform allows us to massively enhance our B2B capabilities with the launch of dedicated client-branded portals.

We have sizable clients that tend to order similar, and sometimes identical, large format and digital print products on a regular basis. While today most ordering and fulfillment happens via email and on a project-by-project basis, soon that won’t be enough. We’ll be ready.

In addition to online ordering, proofing, and payment capabilities, some of our clients also need a print partner that can preproduce materials to maximize production efficiency, store inventory, and fulfill orders on an as needed basis. I can’t think of a better way to use our expanded space.

So, with all this in the pipeline, how can we help your company? Please reach out!

Here’s to a bright future,

Sara
